Situated in the central eastern side of the Afon Wen south site, Wood 6 extends to approximately 2.0 acres (0.81 hectares).
Bordered on its western edge by the very quiet Llangybi to Bryncir back road this wood contains most of the main rides for the whole of the South Wood site and therefore has excellent access.
Previously this wood was covered with a large area of windblown trees, and as part of our management plan, UPM Tilhill cleared this during recent thinning works. As a result, this area is now comparatively clear of trees, except around its north, east and southern edges. A grant has been identified and the process of replanting can soon begin. That however allows an excellent opportunity for future owners to play a leading role in the replanting of the wood and developing the rides, clearings and glades. It will also be a chance for a new owners to really grow and develop their knowledge and woodland skills as their own wood grows and becomes established itself. Corners of this wood are marked with WHITE marker posts tagged with the corresponding GPS information.
Please note: This wood is currently under development by Woodland Bond.
